ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION

Complete reconstruction includes measurements of accident scenes and involved automobiles or other vehicles. All relative factors are considered such as speed, avoidance and mechanical malfunction or defect. Also, other factors including weather, visibility, surface conditions, roadway design, signing, are considered. We can download and interpret vehicle data from airbag Event Data Recorders (“Black Boxes”).

FAILURE ANALYSIS

Documentation and analysis of failed or damaged structures, equipment, products or components for the cause of failure or malfunction. Engineers have design backgrounds and the capability to determine compliance with existing codes and standards.

STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION

Talbott Associates engineers examine buildings, foundations and other structures to determine the suitability for repair as a result of fire, overload, earthquakes, storm damage, deterioration or disrepair.

Recommendations and remedial design, including plans and specifications are provided.

FIRE & EXPLOSION INVESTIGATION AND TECHNICAL EVALUATION

Determination of origin, ignition source through scene examination. Vehicles, products or components are examined to determine cause and to determine compliance with codes and standards.

SLIP AND FALL-TESTING AND EVALUATION

Testing of walking surfaces, using ASTM methods and equipment, is performed. Evaluation of the construction of steps, ramps, railings and measurement of lighting conditions against appropriate UBC and local codes, including ADA, is provided.
